"DOWN THE VALLEY"
Little brother was having a mild pain in his arm but we are adamant people.Sid's illness couldn't persuade us to cancel our "Chakrata trip".The nature's beauty was enough to entice us .
So,my cousins and I planned to turn the tables.Mama(uncle) and Mami(aunt) along with my cousins came for a flying visit to check on my brother. But my cousins and I had some different plans in our mischievous minds.
And guess what ? My little brother was also a part of it :p .
After the lunch, we all gathered in the dining room and had a great time discussing stuff and now it was time to execute the plan π .
We started throwing our emotional tantrums and in no time "Mission Accomplished".ππ
**We smirked **
Teenagers are so smart ...NO? :P
Time to pack our bags but Wait! What about the mode of transport ?
Dad and mama contacted many...but booking was full :(
Now what ?
It seemed to be a fat chance of our trip being successful......We pulled long faces and slept off only to wake up to the good news of cars being booked.
We were on cloud nine.π
And the "Chakrata Trip" begins.....
Day 1-
A hot summer day it was, enough to roast us.We in our casuals clasping our mobile phones excited to capture every moment in that 6 inch screen gradually headed towards our destination. The curve of smile on our faces was the prettiest. My brother seemed to have forgotten his pain :PThe zig- zag roads and deep valleys on both sides was giving me a nauseating feeling.Apart from this, one couldn't ignore the beautiful scenery of those deep valleys.
As we headed, the variations in the weather were evident. The good vibes of the hill station were ecstatic.
Taking two to three stoppages,we finally made it to the beautiful site.
Time to book a hotel. Meanwhile,we had some delicious mangoes after the tiring journey.
Hotel Booked. Now what are the sites worth visiting in Chakrata ?
Chakrata is basically a cantonment town in Dehradun district in the state of Uttarakhand, India. The most sought after tourists spots are "Tiger Falls" and "Chilmiri Sunset Point".
It was the cocktail hour and what could be better than visiting the "Tiger Falls".
20 kms run from Chakrata and we made headway for the "Tiger Falls".
As soon as we reached,we became skeptical. There was no trace of water or waterfall(to be precise).
We started criticizing the fake data available on the internet.
Hoping against hope, we made our way through the crooked path.
Wait...Wait! We could hear something.....
Yes! A mesmerizing sound of the waterfall. We were in a transport of delight :)
Excitement was on the pinnacle !
We were halfway when unfortunately I stumbled upon a wild plant and my right hand went numb.
We got perturbed since we didn't know about the repercussions it could have on me for it could be poisonous too.But thank goodness,a nearby resident helped us get out of the trouble. We heaved a sigh of relief.
And finally we arrived at the captivating spot. The direct waterfall was visible. Our joy knew no bounds.
As the water tumbled down the mountain,it made a soft and gentle sound which was soothing and music to our ears.
Relieved of all our stress,we threw ourselves under the waterfall. All happy faces around smiling from ear to ear, clicking pictures, relaxing, what more did I need ?
Needless to say,the relaxed ambience was giving me signals to not leave that place. One could do meditation in that soothing sound.
But we couldn't stay there for long since it was an excursion. So after drying ourselves,we had the 2 min delicious Maggi (that 2 min Maggi took 30 min to be served π ) and left for our hotel.
After reaching hotel, we preened ourselves and now it was time to explore the "Chakrata Market".
Chakrata offers you the beautiful landscape that stucks in your mind.
Children were gigling and playing around as we made our way to the market.Mom and Mami had their leisure time shopping and we kids enjoyed the beautiful landscape and clicked.(We were not interested in shopping :P )
So the day-out turned out to be successful and we were back to our hotel rooms.
Day 2-
We woke up to the blissful morning."Birds were chirping, the town was painted blue and green".We didn't waste a minute as we were excited to experience the sunrise at the "Chilmiri Point".
But Alas' we were late by a few minutes.
Though we were late,we didn't have a regret. The scene at the chilmiri point stunned us.
I was wonderstruck by the beauty of nature.
The deep valley, the fragrance, the sound...it was a complete paradise and the unending blue sky was feast for the eyes.
The light breeze touched the leaves and they danced. We could experience the same.
Blissful!!
The site was so tranquil, the serenity can't be described. It was so beautiful and mesmerizing !
Spent there almost 2 hours and was relieved of all the stress. The best site it is if one wants to leave the crowded city and spend time with oneself.
Now time to head back to our crowded city with only 0.1% peace.
It was one of the best trips of my Life.π
Some trips are worth cherishing and this was one.π
I'll be coming back to Chakrata soon. :P
Thank you for reading :)
Nice one. Good work.
ReplyDeleteA nice read . .... A kind of feedback : 0.1% --- as a writer, we enjoy everything or try to find good in everything.. thus our hometown too.. it's crowdy but cheerful unlike other cities with strangers everywhere. What kind of peace is that!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much :)....... Yes you are right but sometimes all we need is a day out to assuage the turmoil in our mind and that is momentary..we can't make it an all important part of our Life. Eventually, our Hometown and our family members are the vital part of our life.

ReplyDeleteIf you visit Chakrata again then go to deoban as well. There is a lake which is generally frozen, even during early winter time and feels like nothing less than heaven :)
Wow that seems enticing, I will surely visit that place the next time I go to Chakrata. Thank you so much for this :)
